Teams limited to five members each—Cooking begins at 8:00 am---All chili must be cooked on-site---no store bought chili mixes---Meat can be browned ahead of time---Rice, beans, potatoes, chips, nachos or other ingredients may be pre-soaked, canned, cooked or packaged---One table and paper products will be provided for each team---All other equipment including cooking stoves, tents, etc. must be provided by the cooking team—Electric service is not available---Teams must prepare at least 10 gallons of chili to be used at the festival---Rain or shine---Decisions of the judges are final. (Parking Lot on Water Street between 4th and 5th)
Best tasting chili—Best chili name---Best Decorated booth—Best chili cooking outfits—Spiciest chili—Strangest ingredient---and many more divisions such as best business chili, best school chili, best non-profit chili, best public servant and others

Come on down to the parking lot at Water Street between 4th and 5th and taste the Chili concoctions from over 30 competitors! Yes the chili teams are competing for awards in such categories of "The Spiciest Chili," "The Strangest Ingredient," and "Best School Chili," but you get to sample them all if you like!
As you cruise through Chilitown, you'll be serenaded by Lumberton's hometown band Goldrush! They've been entertaining audiences from Florida to Virginia for over 30 years, They appeared at the FIRST Annual Beach Music Awards in 1982 alongside such greats as The Coasters, The Tams and James Brown! They've stayed true to the music that is truly timeless yet they still appeal to audiences today. Their blend of oldies and beach music, classic rock and country will make Chilitown a happenin' place!
Admission to the Chili Cook-Off is $5.00 with the proceeds going to benefit the Lumberton Football Association.
